What great small TV December 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Super looks, easy to use, top quality picture & sound. A worthy smaller brother to my KDL40X3500. Super Saver Delivery was amazing - ordered Thursday p.m. & arrived Saturday a.m. even during the Christmas rush. Neat price from Amazon as always!
Very mpressed December 20, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We've been thinking about getting rid of our ancient, and deteriorating, 20 inch TV for ages but have never been very impressed by the picture quality of the new flat screens. We have a long thin lounge and view the TV across the narrow part, from about 7 feet, so a larger TV would be overpowering. After much contemplating we decided to buy a replacement in time for Christmas, and would stick with a 20 inch. The Sony was ordered at 6.00pm on Thursday evening for first-class delivery and arrived at 9.40 on Saturday morning - we love the way you can track your package. The TV was unpacked and set up very quickly - it did all of the tuning itself and in a few minutes we were watching the most stunning picture - the colours are superb, the picture incredibly sharp and clear, and the sound excellent. First impressions that the TV was slightly too small were soon forgotten by the quality of the picture. Well done Amazon for a brilliant product at a very good price and very rapid delivery.
Very impressed December 11, 2008 I was looking for a small LCD to have in my bedroom for gaming. I think I found the perfect TV in the Sony KDL-20". Having had a slightly smaller LCD before (that ended up breaking down) I knew that there are some that simply don't deliver, in either picture quality (certainly contrast), or sound.
The Sony has an excellent picture for a smaller TV. Its non-reflective coating means your not getting glare from lights ruining the picture. It's also not too dark, which is another common problem, with night scenes in films being almost un-watchable, not so with the Sony which I am immensely happy with.
Sound quality is another plus as it's certainly not tinny as most this size seem to be. You get a good full sound with enough bass to make films sound great (and not like your listening to them through a portable radio). It's obviously not the best sound and I don't think anyone should expect that but it's enough to not distract so you can enjoy watching the TV.
Digital Freeview is easily set up as the TV automatically scans out all the channels for you, it's simply plug in and play. It's also got two HDMI slots, handy if you have a blu-ray player and an Xbox. I'm using it to game and I'm very impressed with the quality.
Overall I'm very impressed, certainly recommended as a bedroom TV.
Perfect for bedroom December 8, 2008 Was looking around for a couple of weeks on a HDTV for my bedroom, which is quite small, under 3 meters in lenght. Thus I found it difficult to decide on which size to go for. I began looking at small TVs and couldnt decide on whether to get this Sony or their 19" or the Samsung 22", I am very happy that I brought this TV, amazing picture quality, great sound.
THE BEST YET December 4, 2008 By markcus. I fully agree with all the other KDL 20S3020 reviews on the picture and sound quality but I do have one niggle, i.e. no one touch sub-titles button. Most people will not need this feature but I do for the following reasons: My wife has normal hearing and puts up with the sub-titles for my benefit; however it would be nice to turn these off if I'm not watching. Even when I am watching there are times when the sub-titles are out of sync with the commentary as in news broadcast and sport commentaries etc. To access sub-titles or cancel them requires TEN button presses, try it. If anyone know of a shortcut please let me know. Other than this at my age, 81, an easier to follow manual would be nice. That said; don't go for anything inferior in quality Sony must be the best to date
