 Powerfull and cheap console. January 8, 2009
If your looking for a fan-boy review, look else-where!
Why are people complaining about the 2 USB plugins? You could just plug in a USB hub!
The price for the PS3 now is 200, the blu-ray player is 200, the PS3 has the blu-ray player, the game titles are excellent and amazing graphics, comes free with a six-axis controller and all cables (even HDMI cable!) So, dont hesitate to buy. This is just friendly advice to show that the PS3 is not over-priced or over-rated.

FREE 60 FPS ONLINE (requires ethernet cable)
INTERNET (requires ethernet cable)
MOVIES (blu-ray, BEST quality.)
MUSIC (plays MP3's and CD's with music on them.)
PICTURES (FAMILY AND FRIENDS)
DEMOS (100% FREE INCLUDING ALL NEW TITLES!)
INTENSE GRAPHICS (360 actually uses a colourful graphic card, so the colour is better)
80 GB WORTH OF SPACE! (if thats not in enough, go buy a 360 GB or 160 GB hardrive and slide out the hardrive in your PS3, its very simple and will take 5-15 minutes!)
PLAYS PS1 GAMES (PS1 games are probably 50p, so buy lots and lots, like command and conquer and say to your friends you have 20 games for the PS1/PS3)
All consoles are awsome in their own way, WII is for fun, JUST FUN (and fitness...) 360 is for online (very expensive online!)
What ever people say, PS3 IS for family. it can play upto 4 players! (5 people in my house, but ones disabled so...)
 Great but not that great January 8, 2009
Ok so all reviews are saying the ps3 is a great console and it is. After all it does have the stronger processor of the 3rd gen consoles and it is easy to change the hard drive if you wanted BUT this is not the TRUE 80GB PS3 i bought this fairly recently to find that it wasn't the same spec as my brothers 80GB PS3. What do i mean?? i'm going to tell you my PS3 comes with 80GB hard drive so does my bro's mine has 2 usb ports my bro's has 4 the silver finish on mine is matte my bro's is more a chrome finish and finally my bro's has an SD port an M2 port as well as other little tricks that said my brothers PS3 was a pre-order purchase so i'm not sure if they changed the cosmetics of the PS3 to cut cost on our behalf??? or if it was for sony. Other than that get one get one get one.

What an impressive bit of kit this is, i have just traded my 360 in for this and it just punts the 360 into the weeds. Dont get me wrong i was very impressed with the 360 in terms of its game library and live of course but the ps3 has just so much more going for it
Apart from the games and bluray capabilities you can surf the net, play music, view pictures, free online gaming, the list just goes on and on. Ok the online service needs some tweaking i believe but will undoubtedly improve and dont forget it is free and the games library is still a bit small but there are enough decent games in there if you look around. I believe once the developers truly unlock the full power of this machine we will see something very special
The interface is also very easy to navigate around and will be familiar to anyone who has owned a PSP, the glossy finish is very nice but i am not totally sure about the overall design but thats a small price for what lies inside - saying that the 360 isnt exactly a beauty itself.
The controller is also an improvement on the 360 being a lot lighter and less bulky, one thing though im not sure about the triggers i personally preferred the 360's, the sixaxis also adds another dimension to games giving it a slighter more interactive feel.
All i need now is for our old widescreen to give up the ghost and then we can upgrade to a full HD system, im led to believe this just makes it even more impressive and starts to unlock its true potential
To summarise then if you do want a very good games library and the very good live service stick with the 360 but if you want all the additional features and increased power go for the PS3, one last thing - the noise !, my god what a difference, my 360 sounded like a plane taking off (ok a slight exaggeration but you get my drift !), the ps3 is near silent just a low hum in the background and this does make a big difference if your using it for watching movies etc.

I think the ps3 is the best console out there. People say it doesn't have enough games -
1. ps3 games are better quality (generally)
2. I checked and there are over a hundred ps3 games and about 10 of them are ps3 exlusives!
Here are some cool things that the ps3 can do:
1. Wirelessly Connect to Internet (free)
2. ps Network (free)
3. ps home (an online community) (free)
4. Blu-ray disc player
5. DVD player
6. CD player
7. Music player
8. Photo viewer
9. Multiple users
10. I switched my computer on and I discovered that the ps3 can wirelessly connect to the computer and access everything stored on the computer e.g. music, video, photo...
11. 2 usb plugs
12. Wireless controllers with quick easy charging and long battery life + strong - it doesn't matter if you drop one
13. Motion Sensivity on controllers
14. AMAZING GRAPHICS ON almost EVERY GAME
I could go on forever...
I love the ps3 and sony are still working hard to improve it.
As an owner of a ps3 I think although it is more expensive than the 360 it is much better value for money.
Games I would reccomend...

360 rules online gaming. PS3 rocks on blu ray.
360 is a bargain.
