If used indoors you need to turn the lights on. I purchased this with another video for my kids. Both worked well. the quality is better than my Hi8 was. the kids love to make movies with it. the editing software does not work on mac but the IDVD and Imovie works with the camera.

This product's Arcsoft connection worked great for about a week. Then the media player stopped working. I contacted Kodak got transferred to about 4 people who were of no help at all. Then got an e-mail from them saying to get in touch with Arcsoft. I've contacted them at least 4 times: no response. I only get e-mails to buy more of their products. After paying $171.94 for the camcorder, insurance, tripod and memory card I even shelled out an extra $9.99 to upgrade the Arcsoft thinking this would fix the problem. NO! After my last contact with the company miraculously some icons on the bottom of the screeen which I could only see the tops of appeared. After clicking on them I was able to work the media player until today when I was going to try to send a video e-mail when another upgrade appeared. After downloading it there was an icon for sending video e-mails. BUT, once again my media player does not work and what was promised in the ad and even in black and white on the box "Easy video editing and sharing with on camera software." AND "Easy upload to YouTube." they now want over $100 for these new icons to do just what was supposed to happen from the start. AGGRAVATING, FRUSTRATING, A TOTAL RIP OFF!

This camera is a great deal for the price. It takes relatively good video, not great. The low battery light came on after 20 minutes of use on the highest setting. My one frustration is that there seems to be no way to see how full the memory card is when it is in the camera. The manual is not very good and you have to go on their website to download the full version. Even this did not really tell me much about accessing the memory card. I wish there was some sort of cover for the lens. It could easily be scratched which would ruin the camera. Overall I am very happy that I bought this camera. It is pretty easy simply to record and playback, and very easy to transport.

This is my review of the kodak zx1 in full detail i used it inside the house turned on all the lights video was grainy but better video then the rca small wonder camcorder is cloudy and blurry who cares about grain i think it does phenominal video outdoors im in eastern time zone so i went outside it was a cloudy day 4pm snow was on the ground we just had a blizzard i couldnt believe the quality you can even read the number on my mailbox it was that clear. you wont get that with the rca small wonder. then i went out just before it hit dark very slight grain i could still read the mailbox the video was blue in color. overall the product is built pretty well for uploading on youtube,facebook, and myspace this is not a product to make home movies and burn them to dvd this wouldnt be the product for you the zoom is 2x.
