ITs a great camcorder but I dont know how to get it to work with windows movie maker. I put the video onto my computer but it wont let me improt it into the movie maker.... I hate the bundled softaware. Please can someone give me a way to do it and how to do it

I have had this camera for quite some time and have nothing but positive comments. i zoom all over during movies and get very nice results in low light conditions. the hard disk is the kicker - it makes this camera a no-brainer.
Pay no attention to the "five minute shutdown" review. if this happens to you - return it for a working camera instead of being a total idiot. fankx~

If you can live with slightly lower video quality compared to the MiniDV models, the JVC 77 is a nice camera. It's easy to use, responsive, lightweight, etc. There is one HUGE catch for me and it caused me to ultimately decide to purchase a different camera. When recording, if you do not do "something" (anything really), such as adjust the zoom or other settings, the camera SHUTS OFF AFTER 5 MINUTES. This is a show stopper for me. When I am shooting video, I setup the shot, press record and walk away (I record the behavior of animals in a lab, usually for 20 minute sessions). If I mess with the zoom setting every 5 minutes 1) I can't "fire and forget" and 2) It will mess up my automated video processing application.
I think this is a great option for someone who really wants the HDD camera but can't deal with the really low quality video from the 37 model, but still doesn't want to pay the $1000+ pricetage of the Sony equivalent. Unfortunately for me (and my lab's budget), this one wouldn't work, so I went with the Sony.
