Amazon.com Product Description Enjoy solid performance with the easy-to-use HP Photosmart 320 digital camera, featuring 2.1-megapixel resolution--for quality prints up to 8 by 10 inches--and a 4x digital zoom. And with the HP Instant Share feature, you can select up to 14 destinations to deliver your digital photos the next time you connect to your computer, including e-mail addresses, printers, and more. Optics and Resolution Featuring a CCD sensor with 2.1 million effective pixels, the Photosmart 320 creates images up to 1,600 x 1,200 pixels and prints up to 8 by 10 inches. Like with many other entry-level digital models, HP keeps the price low by using a focus-free lens with no optical zoom. A 4x digital zoom does bring your shooting subject closer like an optical zoom, but at the expense of image detail. Storage and Transfer Store photos using the 8 MB internal memory. The Photosmart 320 also features a Secure Digital slot for optional SD memory cards. Movie Mode In addition to taking still photos, the Photosmart 320 can also record silent-movie clips of up to 30 seconds at a frame rate of 15 fps. The QuickTime Motion JPEG format offers a limited resolution, which is great for capturing a short movie that can be e-mailed to friends and family, but is no replacement for a true camcorder. More Features With the optional HP Photosmart 8881 digital camera dock (which includes 4 rechargeable NiMH batteries), you can connect easily to your PC or TV, plus recharge your camera batteries. This version of the Photosmart 320 includes the camera dock. You can easily print photos directly from your camera to an optional HP Photosmart, HP PSC 950 all in one, or HP Deskjet (excludes 600 series) printer with USB connectivity--no PC required. Other features include: - Built-in flash with red-eye reduction.
- 1.5-inch backlit LCD display for preview and review of photos, battery levels, photo counter, and flash modes.
- 10-second timer
Power, Size, and Contents The camera is powered by four standard AA batteries. We recommend a set of rechargeable NiMH batteries. It measures 4.4 by 1.7 by 2.7 inches and weighs 5.6 ounces. This package includes the Photosmart 320 digital camera, four AA alkaline batteries, USB cable, hand strap, and a CD-ROM with HP Photo & Imaging software and USB drivers for Windows and Mac.
Product Description The HP Photosmart 320 is a quality, easy-to-use digital camera at a very affordable price. It has a 2.1 megapixel sensor, 4x digital zoom, and can even record video clips. The 3.8 cm color LCD lets you view photographs and video clips instantly. The camera is designed for families and individuals keen to experiment with digital photography for the first time, looking for a digital camera offering both high resolution and great quality.HP Instant Share technology lets you take a photo and choose a favorite place to send or store it. An optional HP docking station allows you to download, print and e-mail your images - or even view them on your TV - in one easy step. In-camera charging of batteries via optional HP docking station or a HP AC-adapter makes sure that you never miss a unique moment.

Great for pictures, and still movies! August 27, 2008 I got mine at Wal-mart for $220.00,in 2002. I still have it today. I use mostly to take pictures of family members. The only thing I didn't like was it didn't record auido.. That is my only complaint. It surived my test runs for over 6 years. This will last a long time!!!
As a first camera, it's okay... December 11, 2006 When I was given this camera 4 years ago, the HP Photosmart 320 was thought of one of the more technologically advanced cameras of its time.
Now years later, with it's bulky body, virtually NO optical zoom, and low megapixel count, this camera is thought more as an electrical monstrosity than anything else.
The pictures taken with this "thing" usually come out horrible or below average, even on highest quality. Blurred and grainy images are frequent with this camera and red-eye pictures even more. Don't expect much in video mode,
On the plus side, the camera is durable, and the pictures come out okay in bright sunlight. The Photosmart 320 is also easy to understand, and buttons are prominently marked and big enought for most finger sizes.
If you're looking for a cheap, lower-end point-and-shoot with average shots and durability, this camera is probably the one for you.
More Than You'd Expect for the Price October 7, 2006 My hubby and I bought this camera in 2003 for $100. I cannot even count how many photos were taken on this thing. Between vacations, the birth of our son and the weekly photos of our son since that time, probably thousands! Anyway, we've gotten a lot of use out of it and it just broke (actually, the camera still works but the battery door on the bottom of the camera won't stay closed and the batteries fall out all the time.) My only complaint has been that the batteries don't last long. Also, there is video capability (30 seconds) but no sound. However, for first-time digital camera this was great. Now, I get to upgrade to something with even more optical zoom and video with audio capabilities for the same price that I paid for this camera 3 years ago!
A good camera for beginners March 26, 2006 I've had this camera since it first became available (about 2002) and it has served me well. I would suggest this camera for anyone who isn't exactly "technologically" savvy, it's extremely simple to use. It's a littel thicker than the average digi cam out these days, it lacks the sleek, trendy look. It gobbles up 4 AA batteries at a time. All in all, those are the only drawbacks -- this is a pretty OK camera.
Great camera, great price! July 2, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This digital camera is a huge bang for your buck. As a quick sidenote--if you are very into photography, this camera is NOT for you. I'm the average picture-taker: I use my camera for vacation pictures and pictures of my friends on crazy-drunk nights in college. This camera is great for average picture-taking. The quality is great, the menu and design is very easy to use, and unloading pictures to the computer is virtually dummy-proof. The only downfall I can find is the battery life, especially when using the viewfinder. It seems like the batteries run our VERY quickly, which is unfortunate in a vacation-like setting. However, there might be some accessories to help with this problem. Overall, I would highly recommend this camera; I've had mine for 2 years and haven't had a single problem.
