| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Product Description The Polaroid JoyCam is a revision of the instant camera design that made Polaroid famous. It has a small body in comparison to its bulky predecessors and offers a frame counter and built-in selectable flash with a flash-ready light. Easy enough for a child to use, the Polaroid JoyCam operates with the push of a single button--no focusing necessary. The design feature that sets the Polaroid JoyCam apart from other instant cameras is its film delivery system--or lack of one. Traditional instant cameras relied on film cartridges with built-in batteries to enable the camera to expel each shot; however, this model works without a battery. Instead, users pull a plastic ring on the side of the camera to extract the exposed frame. This manual process enables Polaroid to offer a lighter camera body and compatible instant film cartridges at a more reasonable price. The Polaroid JoyCam takes pictures at a range of three feet to infinity. It works with Polaroid 500 instant film and produces pictures that measure 4.4 by 2.5 inches, which is slightly smaller than traditional Polaroid shots.

Buy a lot of film because half of the pics will underexpose March 31, 2003 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Some pictures don't come out at all, some come out ok, and some have to of one person's face.
Most expensive bad photos EVER February 4, 2003 8 out of 13 found this review helpful
If I could rate this product with a zero I would. I purchased this item, with 11 rolls of film, for our wedding reception so guests could have someone take a snapshot of themselves and put in the guest book with their well-wishes, a great idea I have seen work wonderfully at other receptions. Except that I chose the joycam instead of the standard polaroid - BAD CHOICE! First of all the camera was difficult to operate and people had trouble with the film jamming, etc. Because the film had been taken out of the boxes to put out on the guest book table none of it is returnable - and byt he time we returned from our honeymoon and had any time to contend with the issue, the whole lot had been in our hands for more than 30 days thus unreturnable. Basically, don't ever buy this product, or any other product by polaroid that isn't it's basic one-step instamatic...just a huge waste of time and money and hugely dissapointing if you are planning to use it for a once in a lifetime event at which it breaks after just a few shots.
Joycam- what fun! September 3, 2002 Heather (Melbourne) I just got a Joycam, and think it is great fun. Its a fairly big camera, but not at all compared to other polaroids. Its still small enough to take out with you anyhow. And If you've never had a polaroid (I haven't) its great fun to watch the photos developing too.
Its fun! January 23, 2002 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've had my JoyCam for a year now and its become a regular feature at parties. My friends love it and so do I. Now it doesn't replace having real photos which I still take...and you can't do anything fancy with it...but it is fun! Looking from the logical side - the camera itself is quite cheap and the film relatively expensive - about $... for 10 pictures. The camera is lightweight plastic, fairly large in size and not at all high tech.....but looking from a purely fun factor I love it! You get instant pictures at parties and I scan them and share them with friends the next day so we all have copies. The novelty value still hasn't worn off with my friends...perhaps we're just easy to please :-)
Not complaining August 8, 2001 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is my first Polaroid and suits me just fine, for a very good price. The pictures are smallish, about 2.5-3.0 inches by 2 inches. The quality is fair, fine for everday shots.
