Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Slim and trim, the Pentax IQZoom EZY-R fits naturally in your hand and slips readily into your pocket. Yet, it packs an abundance of handy features within. Best of all, this stylish and intelligent camera makes shooting a breeze, even when you zoom in on far away subjects. With the Pentax IQZoom EZY-R, you'll get beautiful results every time.

Amazon.com Product Description
The Pentax IQZoom EZY-R is a simple point-and-shoot camera that automatically adjusts focus and exposure for clear results. You can bring your subjects closer with the 38-70mm zoom lens, and distant scenery is clearly captured with the infinity landscape mode.

The IQZoom EZY-R includes other automatic features such as focus, exposure, load, and rewind with midroll rewinding possible. The flash provides on/off options, daylight synch, slow shutter synch, bulb synch, and red-eye reduction. It also provides backlight compensation with automatic discharge under low light conditions.

The 10-second self-timer gives you time to get in the picture. The IQZoom EZY-R also has a power-off feature that turns off the camera after three minutes of inactivity to save power and help protect the lens.

5 out of 5 stars Small and Lightweight   October 30, 2005

I've had this camera for a few years. My parents bought it for me because I wanted a nice no nonsense camera. It takes great pictures, and I've never had a problem with the camera. I'm a little surprised about all the complaints because I don't have one. I always get compliments on my photos, which I love. The only reason I can see someone complaining is if they are more of a photographer and want more options. Otherwise, this camera is teriffic.

5 out of 5 stars Oh so good   January 3, 2004
I've been taking pictures with a Canon Elan 7 and am convinced you cant find a better camera. The only problem with it is that its not the best camera to take with you everywhere, on week long backpacking trips, etc. Which is why point and shoots come in handy. The Pentax EZY-R was my choice 4 years ago, and until last week it was the toughest most remarkable little camera I'd ever seen. The image quality was among the highest P&S quality Ive ever seen. Over the 4 years I dropped it to the bottom of a lake, it fell out of a car, and survived taking pictures for 6 months in Tanzania, Africa. By the end the pictures taken in Africa were some of my best, even with the Elan 7 that I also had with me. If you're expecting a super zoom with all the fancy gadgets, put some money into it, and learn how to take a picture. For a 60 dollar camera you cant beat it. So when mine just broke, I found the exact same camera, (without date, because it is annoying when it resets the data on you) for 30 dollars. If it doesnt stand up to the first I'll let you know. Like anything else, you could get a fluke, but if you dont it could be the best valued camera you'll ever find.

3 out of 5 stars I wish I had spent a little more.   February 8, 2001

The only reason I am generous enough to give this camera a "3" is because it is my own fault for not spending more and getting a better camera to begin with.

When my son was born 15 months ago, I wanted a simple camera that I didn't have to fool around with. My husband has a nice SLR, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a second camera. Now 15 months later, I wish I had. My basic complaints: focus not great; film advance is horrendous (I usually have to cut the film at different angles just to make the camera advance it); centering subjects is often a pain.

Needless to say, I am going out this weekend and buying a new camera. I wish that I had listened to what my father always told me: "Buy the best you can in the beginning. You'll be thankful later."

4 out of 5 stars We use this a lot!   November 16, 2000

I bought this camera for my daughter, but it has quickly become the family camera. It's lightweight, easy to tote around, easy to use. 400 speed film or greater is a must, as anything slower results in slightly blurry pictures. I like all the different features for adjusting the flash and red eye settings, and using the automatic timer. We have not had any mechanical or electronic problems, and batteries for this camera are not expensive.
