The Vivitar V-4000 offers a hot-shoe connection for a detachable flash unit (not included). With the manual-focus 35-70mm zoom lens, images can be brought in twice as close as with the wide-angle setting. Users set the shutter speed between bulb and 1/2,000 second manually. The bright viewfinder with LED display allows users to see the image they are shooting and adjust camera settings for precisely the exposure they wish to create. The quick-release K-type bayonet mount enables users to switch lenses on the fly. This camera is powered by two 1.5-volt alkaline (LR44) or silver oxide (SR44) batteries.

At first, I thought this was a piece of junk. It's lightweight (almost plastic body) and didn't look like it would hold up in my klutzy lifestyle. I WAS WRONG.

This camera has traveled accross the country, been in rain and snow storms and still held up with the best cameras out there.

The only drawback is that it's a manual camera. Which means, you need to know what you are doing to take good shots. I had no idea what was going on when I first started and now I am shooting pictures that hang in galleries and have won all sorts of awards.

I will tell you that I did buy more lenses for it - and you know what! They were darn cheap on those auction websites.

This is the best camera you are gonna get for the amount of money you are spending. Don't be fooled by it's low price either. I love mine, and am hesitant to trade it in for anything else.

I like to think that I would love this camera, IF I had it yet. I ordered the thing on the 7th of September, paid for two day shipping, and still haven't recieved it on the 15th. Just let this be a warning to you the consumer. Read what you are paying for. Make sure 2-day shipping acutally means 2-day shipping. If not, write an email, request an apology and a refund, and if all else fails take your business elsewhere.

I got this camera for a few reasons, the main being it fit my budget. I've really enjoyed this camera for the last 2 years i've had it. However there have been some problems. for one the film hasen't always transferred(so i shoot a whole roll just to find it wasn't carrying). Even though there are problems, i've liked this camera quite a bit. One thing i really like is how light and sturdy it is. I've dropped it and hit it against rocks yet by looking at it you couldn't tell. All and all i would say this is a pretty good camera, esp. for a beginner.
