Must have for beginning photographers! December 21, 2009 Cheryl Baker (Minnesota) After owning my Rebel XTi for a year, I finally decided to take a class on how to use it. I was able to take a local community education class from a local prize winning photographer and while his course was informative, I went to Barnes and Nobel and bought this book after looking through the many guides offered for the Rebel. This book has been an absolute life saver when it has come to understanding and reinforcing what I was learning in my class. Hands down the best field guide ever!!!
Field Guide for Canon XTi February 1, 2009 R. "Stick" A. (Mechanicsburg, PA USA) This is one of the most well written guides I've seen. Even though I've owned my digital SLR for over a year, but this book taught me so many things. The charts and photos are very helpful. Every photographer who ownes this camera needs this book.
Excellent and practical handbook for the advanced amateur. December 29, 2008 Bjorn Egeland (Stavanger, Norway) This is a God -sent handbook for anyone who has used SLR cameras with old-fashion films, and who now is moving over to digital SLR. Right, this particular book is for the Canon 400D, which is not the newest on the shelves, but I bought my 400D second hand and was determent to get the maximum out of my purchase.
The book gives very good, and easy to follow step-by-step guidance on how to master the different techniques required securing the best results while photographing out in the nature, taking close-ups, sports and more.
Even if you are quite new to photographing, this book will be a great help, as it is written in plain English, and does not use technical terms that so often leaves the beginner feeling stupid.
I strongly recommend this book.

great photo ideas December 14, 2008 Hope Springs (Chicago, IL) I bought this book for our daughter after she bought the Canon Rebel XTi camera. She is currently taking a photography course, and has found it very helpful in determining setting for taking really cool pictures. It has really stimulated her creativity!
Excellet Book November 11, 2008 Bharat Kumawat (CA, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this book on 10th Nov 08. Before buying this book I also purchased a guide for Canon Rebel XTI by David D. Busch. Since I have two books from different authors, I can compare it better. I feel this book is much better and meets my expectations. I gone through varous books but no books tells you what do you mean by AV, TV etc modes, when users should use that? and what is the effects of using that. This is best book and will recommned to others.
