The 10-foot cable offers a USB type A termination at one end and a type B termination at the other. It transmits data at up to 480 Mbps in error-free, high-performance transmissions over 20-gauge power wires. The F3U133-10 is hot-pluggable, supports up to 127 daisy-chained devices, and comes with Belkin's lifetime warranty. Molded strain relief and PVC overmolding make the cable durable, while its impedance-matched, twisted-pair construction minimizes cross talk, ensuring high-speed, error-free transmission. Gold-plated copper contacts provide maximum conductivity and minimize data loss. An aluminum undermold shield helps meet FCC requirements on EMI/RFI interference, and its foil-and-braid shield complies with fully rated cable specifications, reducing EMI/RFI interference. I bought a 6' Belkin USB cord from a Big Box store to hook up my Akai MPK49 MIDI keyboard (piano). The cord allows two-way communication with a DAW program and powers the keyboard (no transformer needed). The Big Box cord did not sufficiently allow powering and the keyboard was quirky and then quit. The present Belkin cord bought from Amazon has worked fine however. So, yes, there is a difference between USB cords for some applications.

Retail for this item isn't $34.99. New Egg sells it for $7.00. As for its performance ... who knows? I ordered it when I purchased a new HP all-in-one from Amazon. The printer's here, but the cable "is being prepared for shipment" (no word on when or if will ever ship) and Amazon advises that I can't cancel the shipment. Wanna bet?

With world class speed and ripping awesomeness, this USB 2.0 cable rocks my world. I connected it to my new Brother printer and found that I was immediately able to print. No special set-up required: I just plugged one end into my printer and the other into my computer and the deed was done. The color of this cable is very pleasing and has a sexy matte finish that all my friends are raving about. Overall this might be the best purchase of my lifetime and I look forward to years and years of joy using this outstanding USB 2.0 cable.
